Carrie Underwood Just Sparked a Complete Meltdown On The Left

Joy Behar, the reigning queen of loud opinions and low logic, is under fire for her ridiculous comments about Carrie Underwood performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration. On Tuesday’s episode of The View, Behar decided it was her turn to lecture the world about patriotism, claiming that Underwood couldn’t love her country while singing for a man she labeled a “convicted felon” who “wants to destroy the country.”

Let’s pause for a second. First of all, calling Trump a “convicted felon” is factually wrong—though accuracy has never been Behar’s strong suit. Second, “destroy the country”? That’s rich coming from a co-host of a show that spends more time trashing American values than promoting them. Behar later backpedaled slightly, saying she wouldn’t stop Underwood from performing because she “believes in free speech,” but not before making sure everyone knew her opinion—because heaven forbid Joy Behar stay silent for five seconds.

Former View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck wasn’t having it. “That @TheView @JoyVBehar needs to simmer down off my friend,” Hasselbeck posted on X, taking aim at Behar’s desperate attempt to stay relevant by attaching herself to Underwood’s name. Later on Sean Hannity’s show, Hasselbeck doubled down, calling Behar’s comments “selfish” and accusing her of “trying to gain publicity while her ship is sinking.”

Even Whoopi Goldberg—no stranger to absurd takes herself—defended Underwood, saying, “If I believe I have the right to make up my mind to go perform someplace, I believe they have the same right. It doesn’t mean I’m particularly interested in watching. I won’t be watching. But that’s me.” A lukewarm defense, but at least it was a rare moment of coherence.

Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood, ever the class act, stayed above the fray. “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration,” she said. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity.”

Here’s the truth: Behar’s comments are yet another example of how the left tries to bully and shame anyone who doesn’t fall in line with their narrow worldview. They preach about “unity” and “tolerance” but can’t handle a country singer performing for a president they don’t like. Underwood’s decision to sing “America the Beautiful” is a reminder that patriotism isn’t partisan, and it’s refreshing to see someone stand up for the country without worrying about backlash from the perpetually outraged.

If anything, Behar’s meltdown only highlights why shows like The View have become parodies of themselves—loud, shallow, and completely out of touch. Underwood’s grace and patriotism stand in stark contrast to the petty outrage machine of the left, proving once again that real Americans value unity and pride over division and noise.
