DeSantis Rips AOC’s Florida Vacation

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis ripped AOC’s recent Florida vacation during questions with reporters on Monday, highlighting the hypocrisy of lockdown policies in blue states.

“If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the past two years, I think I would be a dog gone wealthy man, let me tell you,” he said.

He also noted that leaders in lockdown states hold a double standard. They will push Draconian measures on their own citizens and then flee to Florida to get a taste of freedom from their own rules.

The governor’s humorous response highlights the ridiculous position of ongoing lockdown measures. If they worked, their states would have lower numbers by now. They don’t, yet most blue states are increasingly restrictions rather than rolling them back.

New York, one of the most restrictive states in the nation, recorded the highest per capita numbers last week for new COVID-19 cases. Whatever they’re doing isn’t working. It’s no longer about following science.

Instead, politicians are using restrictions for political benefit, especially as 2022 becomes a major election year for many lawmakers. The time to roll back restrictions is not next year; it was last year.

Florida’s open for business attitude reveals the best thing most states could do is provide fewer government restrictions. Watch and decide for yourself in the latest video.
