Sen. Kennedy: ‘No One In the Milky Way Believes These Bills Cost Nothing’

Louisiana Republican Sen. John Kennedy questioned Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Tuesday during a Housing and Urban Affairs Committee hearing to examine the CARES Act oversight of the Department of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve, noting, “No one in the Milky Way believes these bills cost nothing.”

He responded to the government’s massive spending with words as entertaining as they were wise.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that in my opinion there is no fair-minded person in the Milky Way who believes the infrastructure bill and the Build Back Better bill are not going to require the American people to incur substantial debt,” Kennedy said.

He pressed Yellen for details, asking, “I’m looking for a number. How much in the Biden administration’s opinion is too much debt? At what point will you incur debt that the Biden administration will say okay, that’s it, we can’t borrow any more?”

Yellen replied by criticizing Kennedy’s view of the Build Back Better bill. Our Treasury Secretary literally argued the bill is “fully paid for.”

What she leaves out is who is paying for it. It’s not Biden. It’s not Democrats. It’s you. It’s every American taxpayer supporting those who lead our government. That’s why we must get involved and do more to stop the disastrous spending of the left. Check it out now for the full interview.
